I struggled with this book, which made me sad, as so far I have
really enjoyed the series. My problem was that it was starting to feel
very much the same as Beautiful Creatures & Beautiful Darkness,
however I continued, determined not to loose all faith…
The thing that I truly love about books is that a good book, will
always have the ability to pull you back in at precisely the moment you
need it to the most.
I was in tears during the final chapters of this book, which had a
particular gothic feel too it that seemed more prominent then ever it
had in previous books. I don’t want to post spoilers in this review, but
there were definitely a few surprises. As Gatlin slowly descends into
chaos worthy of an early apocalypse, the battle to find ‘The one who is
the two’, before the eighteenth moon is upon them. along with
appearances from and increasingly annoyed and vengeful Abraham releasing
vexes and other demons. The loss of two beloved characters, which was
eloquently described. The ultimate Sacrifice.
Looking forward to seeing how the final installment plays out.
